Story
In the grim darkness of the 42nd Millennium, the Imperium of Man stands on the precipice of annihilation. The return of Roboute Guilliman, the Primarch of the Ultramarines, has ignited the Indomitus Crusade — a galaxy-spanning campaign to reclaim lost worlds and restore the Imperium’s former glory. Yet, as the Imperium’s forces advance, a new and terrifying threat emerges from the void.
From the western reaches of the galaxy, the Tyranids of Hive Fleet Leviathan descend upon humanity. These extragalactic, insectoid horrors possess a singular, insatiable hunger for all forms of biomass. Their arrival marks the onset of the Fourth Tyrannic War, a conflict that threatens to consume entire worlds.
Amidst this chaos, Demetrian Titus, once a Captain of the Ultramarines who was imprisoned under suspicion of heresy, leads a Deathwatch kill team to the Recidious System, responding to a distress call from the Adeptus Mechanicus on the jungle planet of Kadaku. Their mission: to deliver and detonate a bioweapon to slow the Tyranid advance.
Upon arrival, disaster strikes. The Deathwatch transport is destroyed by Tyranid forces, ultimately leaving Titus as the sole survivor…
